But yeah, games and things like that I think should be gifts. Of course if you're the kind of kid who buys a new game every month then I wouldn't do it but since you don't work I assume you get 2-3 a year which I as a father would be okay with paying for to make my kid happy.
A cool idea I read once was this one guys parents taking money from him for game purchases, CD's, DVD's, Tickets etc. They saved all the money in an account and when he hit 21 (American family) he had like 10,000 dollars as a gift. I liked that.
I will buy RLL9 for my kid. Mark my words.
