Cam Smith is gonna go down as an immortal and buderus isn't even in the same league as him. Learn the facts.

Regardless I don't want to argue about it anymore. As Ruck stated it almost is Apples and Oranges. They are not the same player. Smith directs the flow of the game, has a good kicking game and controls the attack whilst having strong defence. Buderus was much more running based and lethal out of dummy half and had amazing support play with forwards and the backs. Both great players and respective club legends However I do think if you're picking a dummy half it's hard to look past Smiths accomplishments and how much he can lift a team

However I will not agree that Smith Thurston and Inglis did not earn their Rep jerseys 'and people earned it back in 99'. Smith and Thurston week in week out are game changing players who give 110%, you may not argue the same for inglis however he has superhuman attributes that can't be taught and in a lethal australian attack is deadly.

Saying that they are not good players is ignorant and shows very poor football sense so while I understand your slightly bias Buderus viewpoint , I and many other forum members think that the former viewpoint of 3 of the best rugby league players of an era being bad, is ridiculous

Here's a lifetip for you mate

When you say to someone "learn the facts". You better ensure that you know the facts 100% correct youself.

Buderus wasn't injured end of 06, he voluntary excused himself from the Australian squad so he can be with his wife when she was having a baby.

Another words, Buderus knew Smith was better than him. So instead of getting criticized and probably forced out, he had the honor on leaving on his own terms Smile

It can't be Apples and Oranges. Your comparing 2 players in the exact same positions

Apple vs Oranges will be like comparing a forward to a back or a halfback to a 5/8

You're right actually.

And then when Buderus came back he never got his spot back because Smith was better. Learn the facts mate.

Actually he retired from rep footy so no he never got it back as it was his choice

While your link states "In 2006 Buderus missed the one-off Test against NZ through injury, and following NSW’s State of Origin loss, stood down from Test duty while he awaited the birth of his child."

The same site lists...
http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/matche...aland.html

In other words Buderus was still of quality and was the first choice for the ANZAC Test.

As for Camdogz, Buderus was still playing rep in 08 and if I recall correctly was picked for the Australia squad but not played that year.

Apples to Oranges... both hookers, but both different types of hookers. Points decision would go to Smith but they are both good players. Smile
He didnt play for australia in 08 as ricky stuart said any player going to england wouldnt play a game
Apparently he was in the 46 Man Squad... either way he played for Country and NSW in 2008, therefore he didn't retire from rep duty in 06.

He sat out the Tri-Nations by choice and Smith took over.
